SBC Yahoo! is a premium product offered to DSL subscribers that includes a premium services bundle, an integrated browser, and a dynamic home page. The home page takes advantage of the high-speed DSL connection by delivering dynamic interaction and rich content. As the lead interaction designer, my role was to design the overall user experience with a team of interaction designers, visual designers, web developers and user researchers.
The Today Module is the centerpiece of the homepage. It offers a set of rotating top stories and incorporates video content that can be consumed right on the page.
Quick Tools for composing email and adding a calendar event allows the user to stay productive without leaving the homepage.

To minimize development cost, I used wireframes to define the user interaction and product features as early in the process as possible. I also defined a limited set of dynamic modules to be used consistently throughout the site, hence mitigating the potential for abusing the DHTML technology. View Modules Wireframes (PDF 2.7M)
