I led the UX team to build out the mobile version of Google Drive across both iOS and Android Platforms. I worked with a distributed team of product managers, designers, and engineers from New York, Sydney and Boulder to deliver Mobile Drive as a stand-alone app from 2011-2016. In that period, we saw a 10x increase in Drive active users, with a majority of the growth coming from the mobile platform. We focused on bringing desktop features onto the mobile platform and developed mobile-only features such as PDF document scanning and offline storage. Drive was one of the first apps to use Google's Material Design language, contributing to Material's development and patterns library. Google Drive was named one of the 20 best Android apps by TechCrunch since 2012, a year after launch. Throughout its evolution, Drive has maintained an average app rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars and has overtaken Dropbox as the leading cloud storage solution today.
